It was a great year! So much happened and the ranch was perfect. Spectacular grasses and we hit the fall colors at the ranch PERFECT! We had so much fun that we have reserved the Absaroka Ranch for next Summer and Fall; July 9th thru the 15th and for the Fall, September 23rd - 29th. We had to move the start for September to a Saturday to be there for peak colors and to avoid the start of hunting season. When sending in a registration please mark which workshop dates you are reserving. Right now September has three people on the list. July has one person on the list. Thanks.
Pricing for both workshops is $1,990 per person. Please contact me for any details you would like and we will start accepting registrations and downpayments after January 1, 2017. Please contact me before sending in anything to make certain that we are not full. There are a limited number of openings.
The ranch is a delightful place with a wonderful staff and the accommodations and meals are absolutely superb. Wrap all that up with scenery to die for and you have the recipe for a great week. It must be superb. Most attendees come back for at least a second time. Altitude at the ranch is 8,000 feet so expect a day or two of adjusting if you are coming in from a lower altitude.
We are set up to have two people per bedroom and two berooms per cabin with a shared bath. This has worked out very well in the past with no issues or conflicts. Of course we are gender specific in each half-cabin. and try to be in every cabin but again, this has worked out well every year. As one lady put it, "You arrive as strangers and leave as brothers and sisters."
When sending in a registration please note to make Checks payable to "Absaroka Ranch" - Also it is important to fill out the Liability Waiver form and enclose it with the registration.
What they are saying:
"I have attended the Wyoming wilderness photography workshop for the past two years. I have learned so much through the experience and have enjoyed seeing all the fabulous landscape. Meeting with such talented instructors and their wives has made a lasting impression. The cabins are very comfortable and the food is out of this world. It is something that will be a growing experience for a photographer of any level. Everyone learns something new. Opportunities to ride the horses that we get to photograph as the workers at the ranch work with the horses to give us the best chances for great photos. This is an opportunity that you don't want to miss!" - Phoebe Janzen
